Introducing MyColdwater.com Cash Mobs!

We’ve started a new promotion with the help of some lovely friends of MyColdwater.comMyColdwater.com Cash Mobs!!  I am beyond excited about this!  This is a tangible way for all of us to show our support of locally owned small businesses

It’s a pretty simple, you show up at the specific locally owned business at a predetermined date and time, spend a minimum of $10-20 cash and have fun! Sort of like a flash mob but you are spending money and supporting a local business/business owner rather than singing and dancing.  Though, if you would like to sing and dance while you shop, feel free!

We’ve set up a Facebook Group for the events so we can keep the locations secret from the business owners.  Show your support of local businesses and come out for a fun shopping experience.  While you are downtown, visit the other businesses, have lunch and HAVE FUN!!!

Helping Others In Our Community

We want to encourage you to help those in our community who are in need this Christmas.  You may have a favorite charity that you support but if you don’t here are a couple suggestions.

Taylor’s Books and More Book Angel Project – Every child needs books.  They are a gateway to imagination and creativity.  Taylor’s Books and More is collecting books for children who otherwise would have none.  We were told they have more wishes this year to fulfill.  To help just stop in the store and select a tag from the tree and then choose a book for that child.  Simple as that.  Taylor’s Books and More is even offering 15% off on the books purchased for the tree.

Naomi Davis Shelterhouse Christmas Project – Providing victims of domestic violence with Christmas gifts.  If you are interested in helping with this project you have a few different options.  You can visit Biggby Coffee in Coldwater where the giving tree is set up and choose an ornament off the tree, purchase the gift on the ornament, place the gift with the ornament attached under the tree. OR you can donate through their online donation website.  If you just want more information, click the title and the link will take you to their Facebook page where you can contact Katie Miller, the coordinator for the project.

Christmas Shopping in Coldwater

Christmas is just around the corner and we want to encourage all of our MyColdwater.com fans to shop locally and support small businesses.  With so many great places to choose from, it’s hard to visit all of them when you are looking for that special gift. We decided to help you out by scoping out some local stores and bringing a sampling of what’s available in our beautiful town.  This series will begin in our friendly downtown area.  Over the next few weeks we will post some great gift ideas and maybe even introduce you to some of our favorite small business employees and owners while we are at it.

If you are a small business owner in Coldwater and you would like us to feature your business here, just leave a comment here or join our Facebook Group and tell Kevin that you are interested in being featured.
